Mangalore University Introduces BCA Programme in AI and Machine Learning Among New Courses This Year

Mangalore University is introducing several new programs this year, including courses related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, business data analytics, occupational health and safety, hair therapy, and design. Among the new courses, Beary’s First Grade College, Kanachur Institute of Management and Science, and St. Raymond College will offer a bachelor’s degree in artificial intelligence and machine learning. The course will have an intake of 40 students at Beary’s First Grade College and will have 60 and 30 students at Kanachur and St. Raymond, respectively.

Beary’s Institute of Emerging Learning and Minerva College will offer a four-year bachelor’s degree in business data analytics. The former will have an intake of 90 students, while the latter can accept up to 80. Minerva College is also offering a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, with an intake of 80 students.

Shivas International Institute of Professional Innovation, a new institute, is introducing certification programs in hair and beauty therapy and diploma programs in designing and treating hair. Vaibhav College and Sharaf Institute of Commerce and Arts are the two new colleges that applied for affiliation of the university for the year 2023-24.

During the Academic Council meeting held on Monday, the university’s local inquiry committee recommended not renewing the affiliation of AIMS First Grade College in Kabaka Puttur due to a lack of classrooms for BA and B.Com courses. Acting Vice Chancellor Jayaraj Amin said that the college must submit a certificate of completion of a new building by August, and the affiliation will be renewed only if a committee is satisfied with the new structure.
