Samsung Electronics has announced that it will be developing its own in-house artificial intelligence (AI) to replace ChatGPT due to security issues. The company has said that the AI will be used to assist employees with tasks such as translation, knowledge search, and summarization. According to reports, the AI, which is superior to the recently debuted GPT-3.5, is being introduced by the company’s semiconductor unit.
Samsung Electronics has also said that it will launch a customized artificial intelligence (AI) service for its staff. The company will no longer use the ChatGPT after a series of confidential information leaks earlier this year. The company’s Device Solutions unit will introduce the large language model (LLM), which it claims is at a higher level compared to the GPT-3.5 that debuted this year.
Samsung Electronics is planning to make its basic services available in December and will roll out professional search services in February 2024.
The company’s new AI-based system will support nine key areas that will help employees with their tasks, including automated responses for purchasing and expenses, design, document creation, code generation, meeting transcription, and summarization, company analysis, voice of the customer (VOC) response, and more.
Kyung Kye Hyun, DS division head at Samsung Electronics said, Depending on how we utilize generative AI, we can bring about tremendous innovation in our work. We are currently pursuing the adoption of customized AI through domestic specialized companies.
Samsung Electronics is making significant moves towards improving the company’s organizational culture, restoring its weakened development competitiveness and meeting customers worldwide to draw the future together.
