Google is gearing up to offer Pixel owners more ways to customize their device. According to a recent leak, the tech giant has introduced the Emoji Workshop Wallpaper app, which allows users to select up to 14 emojis and choose from five different patterns to create a personalized wallpaper. The app also generates interactive wallpapers featuring dancing emojis. However, installing the app requires Android 14 Beta 3, which is currently only compatible with Pixel phones.
In addition to the Emoji Workshop app, Google is also reportedly rolling out new Material You widgets for its News app. The update will come with version 5.82 of the app and will include a smaller Quick View widget, as well as a List View to display multiple headlines about a particular topic.
Finally, Google is giving users the ability to create their own cinematic photos with new controls in the Library/Utilities section of the Google Photos app. This AI-based feature, which was introduced in December 2020, adds a slow camera pan animation to photographs, and moving forward, users will have more control over which images are edited. However, the feature will remain exclusive to Pixel owners with a subscription to Google One.
Although there is no word on the launch date of the Emoji Workshop app or the Google News widget, it is expected that both will be released alongside Android 14 later this summer. However, users are urged to avoid downloading unofficial versions of the app for safety reasons, and to wait for the official releases instead.
