Can You Keep Up with ChatGPT’s Rise in the Workplace? Take This Quiz!

Date:

Can you keep up with the rise of ChatGPT in the workplace? A new survey of 2,000 employed adults has found that over half are nervous about this AI platform potentially rendering some parts of their job roles redundant. In particular, those working in HR and education are most cautious about the emerging technology. Respondents are most concerned about translation services and web development being the most at risk, followed by writing, customer services, and coding. Shockingly, nearly one-third of those surveyed haven’t done enough to develop their skills to keep up with the changes being made in the workplace.

While 83% of respondents believe that the human touch remains valuable, workers must explore how they can stay ahead of the curve with new technology. With new tech always comes new opportunities, and it’s just as important that we learn how it can support how we perform certain tasks. Other industries considered to be at risk from AI include marketing, advertising, and PR, as well as IT, business services, and finance.

Despite apprehension, 39% of workers are considering using ChatGPT to help streamline some of their processes at work, with 82% of those who have used AI in their workplace noticing an improvement in productivity. The survey found that 67% of workers have tried to learn a new skill in the last 18 months, and 88% feel that it’s important to continually learn new skills for their job. The verdict? No matter how secure you feel in your role, something can come along – like ChatGPT – to really throw the cat amongst the pigeons.
