ByteDance reportedly tests internal chatbot similar to ChatGPT

Date:

ByteDance, the company that owns popular social media app TikTok, is said to be testing an AI chat tool called Grace, which appears to be similar to OpenAI‘s ChatGPT. Local media outlet Tech Planet reported that the Beijing-based firm has confirmed Grace is an internal codename for a project that is still in its early testing stages and is currently only being used for internal testing. ByteDance has been working on advancing its language and imaging capabilities in its language model and has also recruited former Alibaba AI expert Yang Hongxia to head up its AI lab. While the company has remained tight-lipped about its development efforts in this area, the Grace chatbot suggests it is continuing to explore the capabilities of AI technology.
