ChatGPT IOS App Now Available in Malaysia, Except for U Mobile Users.

Date:

OpenAI‘s ChatGPT iOS app is now available in Malaysia via the Apple App Store, with users being able to access the chatbot’s AI-powered services directly from their iPhones. However, U Mobile users are unable to utilise the platform due to the inadequacy of OpenAI‘s phone number verification system. This system requires a phone number to send an SMS or WhatsApp code, which is a mandatory step in the registration process. As a mobile carrier, U Mobile should not have this issue, but it remains the only local carrier that is not supported by OpenAI‘s verification system. The company’s help page notes that unsupported contact details associated with landlines, VoIP providers, or Google Voice are not compliant with the security required for the platform. Currently, OpenAI has not provided U Mobile users with a solution, with most complaints remaining unresolved, but an update is expected soon for the android version of ChatGPT.
