Automating Personal Injury Settlements: EvenUp’s Innovative Solution

Date:

EvenUp, a legal tech start-up, has launched a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate letters presenting proposed compensation amounts for personal injury cases. EvenUp works by extracting relevant information from raw case files including medical records, police reports, and bills to create templated demand packages, complete with a demand for compensation, that state the legal and factual basis for a personal injury claim. EvenUp founders Ray Mieszaniec and Rami Karabibar hope that the technology will help to level the playing field in personal injury cases by providing a means to assess compensation amounts more accurately. The EvenUp database includes hundreds of thousands of medical records, and AI estimates compensation based on that information. The platform will initially target litigation of motor accidents, child abuse, police brutality, and natural disaster claims. The database enables lawyers to increase case outcomes and reduce costs of producing legal paperwork, while producing accurate compensation values.
