According to Mustafa Suleyman, the co-founder of DeepMind and CEO of Inflection AI, personal AI assistants are the future of artificial intelligence. He believes that these assistants will transform how we live and work by helping individuals with everything from shopping to negotiating and will make us better at virtually everything.
Suleyman’s company Inflection AI has created a generative AI chatbot Pi that can help users make decisions and offer support. The chatbot uses large language models and can be used for a variety of different purposes. Pi, which stands for personal intelligence, can be used as a companion to engage users in conversation or to assist them in pursuing their hobbies and passions. In the future, Pi will be equipped to help users manage their daily tasks such as booking, organizing, and scheduling.
Bill Gates also believes that personal digital AI agents could fundamentally change how we use technology by eliminating the need to use search engines and other productivity websites. Google is already feeling the competition from conversational AI as management reportedly issued a code red after the launch of ChatGPT. Google has since then launched their own competitor, Bard.
Suleyman believes that the impact on search engines will come sooner rather than later, with AI transforming our interactions with technology within months. He says we won’t need to use websites with 10 blue links anymore but will depend on AI assistants to help us find the information we need.
