While acknowledging concerns about the darker aspects of AI, Altman called for nuance in discussions around AI regulation. Despite the technology being over-hyped in the short term, he believes that AI is under-hyped in the long term. Altman also stated that OpenAI is not currently training GPT5 and that it has a lot of work to do before launching it.
