The head of cybersecurity for the UAE government has warned that ChatGPT is being used to launch ransomware and phishing attacks. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti made the comment during his keynote speech at the 6th CSIS Cybersecurity Innovation Series Conference in Dubai. He claimed that adversaries were using many tools in the ChatGPT platform to launch attacks and that the potential threat was growing. Al Kuwaiti also argued that artificial intelligence (AI) was being used to develop attacks, and that countermeasures were necessary to ensure that AI was used for good. The government is said to be committed to educating people about cyber threats, and is integrating cybersecurity into educational curricula.
