Gran Turismo 7 to Receive 5 New Cars with Upcoming Patch

Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo series has been an industry favourite for decades, but it was with the 2021 launch of Gran Turismo 7 that the series reached a new level of excellence. With impeccable visuals and a roster totalling over 420 cars, GT7 has provided the perfect blend of realism and simulation racing. One year on from its launch and the game is still going strong, with a bevy of free updates bringing more to the table – and the next one is set to deliver even more.

Kazunori Yamauchi, director of GT7, took to Twitter recently to tease an upcoming content drop, featuring five cars shrouded in shadows. Thanks to some eagle-eyed fans however, it has been discerned that the 5 vehicles set to be included in the update are the Audi Sport Quattro, Aston Martin DB5, Audi R8 LMS, Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R and the Mazda RX-7 Spirit-R Type A.

Alongside these five cars, players can expect this new patch to bundle in some new features. GT7 launched with uncompromising VR support, and developer Polyphony Digital has steadily been improving it further with subsequent updates. Plus, the game has included some pioneering next-gen racing AI technology – allowing for a uniquely realistic experience.

Although from its peak of 1,237 cars in Gran Turismo 6, the total number of cars in GT7 still falls short – at 462 – Polyphony Digital’s dedication to supporting the game for free since launch has been incredibly appreciated by its fans. With the latest patch arriving soon, Gran Turismo 7 is sure to impress once again.
