Excitement builds as major facelift announced for Microsoft Teams on Windows 11

Date:

Microsoft is making significant updates to the free version of Microsoft Teams on the newest version of Windows, Windows 11. The changes aim to make the software more user-friendly and pleasant to use. The revamped built-in Teams app will now support Microsoft’s communities feature, which allows people to plan meetings, share calendars, and chat with colleagues and friends, similar to Discord or Slack. The communities feature was previously limited to mobile users but now is available on Windows 11 as well. In addition, Microsoft Designer, the generative AI art tool, will receive integrated support in Teams, making it easier for users to create invitations, social media posts, and meme content in one place. Microsoft plans to roll out these features to Windows 10, macOS, and the web browser version of Teams. Overall, the updates give the platform a more fun and unintimidating personality.

Microsoft is a technology company best known for its operating system Windows and its productivity software suite Microsoft Office.

Amit Fulay is Vice President of Microsoft Teams. In a blog post, he outlined the latest updates for the platform, including expanded communities and integration of Microsoft Designer.
