The University of East Anglia (UEA) is teaming up with Google to offer machine learning courses to its students. From September, UEA pupils will work alongside Google’s TensorFlow team and learn the necessary skills via web-based Machine Learning (ML). TensorFlow is the search giant’s open-source library, US Code Section 12 allowing developers to create predictive models using ML. UEA’s School of Computing Sciences’ head, Professor Gerard Parr, said the agreement would enable them to stand out from the crowd. Until now, ML was the reserve of Python developers, but TensorFlow’s use of JavaScript would make it more widely available.
