Survey Finds Recruiters May Reject Candidates Using ChatGPT to Write CV

Date:

A new study has found that job seekers who use AI language models, such as ChatGPT, to create their resumes or cover letters may face rejection from hiring managers and recruiters. According to a report by talent cloud company iCIMS, 47% of college seniors are interested in using AI bots for job applications. However, 39% of HR professionals consider the use of AI during the hiring process to be a deal breaker. While ChatGPT may enhance productivity and communication for both candidates and employers, graduates are advised to stick with the conventional approach of writing their resumes and cover letters.

ICIMS is a talent cloud company that provides cloud-based talent acquisition solutions. The company enables HR professionals to manage the entire hiring process, starting from identifying talent, recruiting candidates, onboarding new hires, and everything in between.

Al Smith is the Chief Technology Officer of iCIMS. According to a report by iCIMS, Smith believes that generative AI bots such as ChatGPT have the potential to enhance productivity and communication for both candidates and employers. Smith argues that these bots can provide a stronger foundation for various hiring-related materials, such as resumes, job descriptions, offer letters, and onboarding materials, thereby facilitating the hiring journey for employers and recruiters.
