MyHeritage, a genealogy company, has launched Reimagine, an AI-powered app that helps users preserve old photos by importing, scanning, and touching up images. The app, available on both iOS and Android, automatically crops scanned photos and saves them as standalone images. Reimagine is packed with editing and enhancement features such as restoring faded colours, repairing scratches, and enhancing the resolution of the images. Additionally, MyHeritage partnered with D-ID to create Deep Nostalgia, a patented video reenactment technology powered by AI and deep learning, that brings these old photos to life, allowing the people in them to speak and tell their stories. MyHeritage’s Reimagine app is currently free to download and use but monetizes via weekly and monthly subscriptions that unlock unlimited access to photo scanning, colourisation, enhancement, and other features.
