Google’s AI-boosted search engine is now making its debut to the public. The upgrade titled ‘Search Generative Experience’ or SGE, offers users a totally streamlined search experience that takes into account the user’s context. To join in on the SGE testing, users must first join a waitlist. For PC users, this is done by accessing the Search Labs website with the Chrome browser and selecting ‘Join Waitlist’. For mobile users, this is done by using the Google App and finding the science-beaker icon in the upper left corner, also selecting ‘Join Waitlist’.
It’s worth noting that Google are prioritizing access to their Search Labs for subscribers of the Google One Premium program, though it may still take a while until the invitation arrives. It is also worth noting that access to the Search Labs platform will only be permitted for a limited time, with no set length for this given.
The exciting thing about SGE is that it offers users such advanced information and detailing with every query they make. Such features now include product reviews, price points, and even link to the product itself. Google suggests starting off with simpler queries and building up from there, to get used to the AI platform. They also recommend being mindful of the information you interact with as SGE can present false data that holds no resemblance to reality.
