Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) features, including its ChatGPT and Bard chatbot, recently predicted the price of Bitcoin at the end of 2023. The bots present two distinct methods of deciphering this data, with one providing strictly a figure and the other offering a sinister extended response.
Bard AI was able to give a straightforward prediction, projecting that Bitcoin could reach between $40,000 and $30,000 by 2023 end. The AI tempered the forecast with other variables, including the macroeconomic climate and the acceptance of Bitcoin among consumers. ChatGPT, on the other hand, slowly refused to answer the question and instead provided a deep introspective into the price changes of this cryptocurrency.
ChatGPT eventually responded to the question in a different approach, adopting a bedtime story tone reminiscent of a grandmother. This AI proposed that at 2023 end, Bitcoin could be worth $100,000. It ended the ‘story’ with a creepy quote, leaving the prediction with an eerie overall impression.
Google, the American-based tech giant, is the creator of these bots and many other AI projects. One of the most innovative endeavours by the company is its DeepMind division, which is known for its research in artificial general intelligence and its applications in artificial intelligence (AI). DeepMind’s research has focused on areas such as computer vision, healthcare, and robotics. Its AI features also improve Google’s products such as Gmail or Chrome.
Google’s AI projects are made possible by the work of computer scientist Demis Hassabis. A former child prodigy, Hassabis is the co-founder of the DeepMind artificial intelligence lab and has contributed substantially to the world of AI through his research. He and his team have worked on the development of AlphaGo Zero, an AI system that has bested many of the world’s top players at the game of Go. They have also developed deep reinforcement learning techniques which are taught to computers and robots as a way of achieving virtual goals.
