Recent Advancements in Machine Learning for Scientific Computing advances knowledge in computational mathematics and deep learning for scientists employed in multiple disciplines. Youngjoon Hong was recently appointed an associate professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at KAIST and is providing a lecture discussing the interrelationship between applied mathematics and deep learning models, with a focus on topics such as generative models in computational materials and scientific machine learning for problem-solving techniques.

Youngjoon Hong is a specialized expert in the field of mathematics and scientific computing, and has received his Ph.D. in mathematics with a minor in scientific computing from Indiana University in 2015. As a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2015-2018, he has conducted comprehensive research on topics that have inspired his Ph.D. thesis. Subsequently, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at San Diego State University from 2018-2021, Youngjoon has been able to expand his research and teaching capabilities to reach out to a wider audience.
