Worldwide Outage of ChatGPT Confirmed By OpenAI

OpenAI, the company behind the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, has confirmed a worldwide outage. For the last 45 minutes, users have been unable to access the bot and instead receiving an “Error Code” stating that the previous model used was unavailable. Reports from DownDetector and Downhound showed over one thousand users facing this issue.

The company’s status page confirms the outage and shows that there are issues with the various engines, including Whisper and Turbo Engines. OpenAI is actively looking into the source of the problem and the error rates seem to be gradually dropping. As of now, ChatGPT is still down in the U.S., Europe, India, Japan, Australia, and other parts of the world.

OpenAI, founded in 2016, is an AI research laboratory that partners with tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and NVIDIA to create research-first projects. Their projects range from generative models to unsupervised machine learning, and one of their most popular projects is the AI chatbot, ChatGPT, which was created to allow users to talk about various topics with various people.
