Bill Gates Predicts AI will make Search Engines Unnecessary

Bill Gates recently said at the AI Forward event hosted by Goldman Sachs Group and SV Angel that artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to become so powerful that people would no longer need to use search engines or shop online. He believes that top AI companies could develop some kind of “personal digital agent” that would make it easier for users to find the information they need. For example, this agent could save time by helping people to “read the stuff they don’t have time to read”. Gates does hope that Microsoft would be part of the race to develops AI but he believes that there is a 50% chance that the winner could be a startup.
