Microsoft Enhancing Meeting Experience with Avatars for Teams Enterprise Customers

Date:

Are you a Microsoft Teams user in need of a pick-me-up? Then, you are in luck! Microsoft just released customizable avatars and reactions for users with Microsoft 365 Business and Enterprise licenses this week in the Teams desktop app for Windows and Mac. With these new features, you have the option of a camera break while still engaging and enjoying the conversations!

Furthermore, Microsoft also launched Mesh for private preview, an amazing platform letting developers build VR-focused experiences for the workplace. You can join immersive spaces, which offer many attributes of in-person interactions like the ability to walk and socialize with a group. It is yet another attempt by Microsoft to bring the “metaverse dream” alive!

It appears that Microsoft is lending more of its focus to dominating the AI space than the metaverse, which has cost another heavy hitter in the VR sector billions of dollars. Microsoft closed AltspaceVR, which was creating social VR experiences, in January as a result of company-wide restructuring, and reports suggest that the successor to the HoloLens 2 headset has been cut due to “strategic uncertainty.”

Ultimately, time will tell if Microsoft is making the right decision. Meanwhile, for Teams users, the extra add-ons can only be beneficial and certainly serve as a more exciting experience than a blank screen. So use your avatar to express yourselves and find joy in the tedium of remote working!
