My ChatGPT Plus Subscription was a Smart Move – And I Love It!

Date:

I recently subscribed to the OpenAI ChatGPT Plus with the promise of web browsing and plugin features. Before paying the $20 monthly fee, I was skeptical of the value of these bonus features in comparison to the free version of ChatGPT. However, having used ChatGPT for quite some time, I finally made my decision to take the plunge last month.

Enabling the web browsing feature took me only a few steps. After logging in to ChatGPT, I clicked on the settings and beta features menu. There I saw a toggle switch for web browsing and switching it on meant all that I had to do was to click on the GPT-4 option and select “browsing” mode. Unfortunately, I had to use a limited number of web browsing prompts every day, based on the subscription I chose.

With the web browsing activated, I could use the ChatGPT to search the web and get results for many fun and useful queries. For example, when I was getting ready to play the new Zelda game, I asked the chatbot to look for beginner’s guides and it was able to paraphrase key details from the correct article from Polygon. It was able to do the same for a horror movie on Netflix, offering me two distinct picks based on one interaction. It even remembered where I lived and was able to give me movie showtimes at the nearby AMC.

For general everyday use, I found the ChatGPT Plus web browsingAdd to be even improved with plugins. According to OpenAI, this system can be utilized to “order groceries through Instacart, book flights on Expedia, and more”. I have yet to put this to the test as I need to do more testing before really recommending it. But for the time being, I believe I will keep my subscription even after considering its few flaws.

Overall, ChatGPT Plus was totally worth the money and I’m happy with my subscription. Its web searching capabilities are quite useful and the experience is enthralling. So if you are thinking about spending $20 a month and playing with the web browsing option in beta, I would definitely tell you to go for it. Follow the simple setup described above and start using web browsing for fun and creative endeavors.
