OpenAI, a research laboratory and artificial intelligence company co-founded by Elon Musk, has made a surprising move and launched the ChatGPT app on the iOS platform. The app syncs conversations, supports voice input and comes with other new features that will excite iOS users. The company also mentioned that the Android version is in the pipeline and Android users will soon be able to download and use the app. This is in addition to the regular features like free use of the app, cross-device compatibility, and exclusive access to GPT-4’s capabilities to plus members.
The move towards making this app available on the iOS platform has been met with some challenges due to the various regulations that are required to be implemented for AI-enabled platforms such as ChatGPT. Companies that employ such products must take into account regional regulations for them to be incepted properly, this includes taking into account the recent US Senate discussion that deliberated mandatory regulations for AI technologies, and the implementation of multiple regulations by the European Parliament to restrict the use of AI technologies such as biometric surveillance, emotion recognition, etc. India, on its part, is moving towards a regulation setup for AI-enabled platforms such as ChatGPT, but so far the government has been slow in its progress in this direction.
The OpenAI company, which is at the forefront of developing Artificial Intelligence systems, was co-founded by the tech mogul Elon Musk. With his vision of improving technologies for the betterment of humanity and by investing heavily into advanced AI projects, OpenAI has become one of the leading AI developers in the world. OpenAI has worked on many projects such as developing deep learning algorithms, data mining and natural language processing. In addition to this, OpenAI is currently in competition with Google’s Bard, an AI messenger, in creating comprehensive platforms for AI technologies – with ChatGPT being one of OpenAI’s latest developments.
