Nano Dimension, the Israeli-American leader in the field of Additively Manufactured Electronics and Additive Manufacturing 3D printing machines and consumable materials, has recently announced the purchase of its DragonFly® IV system by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Germany’s leading applied research organization. This sale is the result of a strategic relationship between Nano Dimension and the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Individualized and Cell-Based Medical Engineering, which will use its system for research projects in medical electronics and instrumentation.
The DragonFly® IV system is ideal for the Fraunhofer IMTE use cases. It can deposit proprietary conductive and dielectric substances, integrate in-situ capacitors, antennas, coils, transformers, and electromechanical components, and thus make possible applications like autonomous intelligent drones, cars, satellites, smartphones, and in vivo medical devices. Hi-PED® (High-Performance-Electronics-Devices) resulting from this technology offer iterative development, IP safety, fast time-to-market, and device performance gains.
Commenting on the purchase order, Professor Matthias Gräser, Department Head Diagnostics at Fraunhofer IMTE, said that they were pleased to work with Nano Dimension and its DragonFly® IV system will permit them to optimize and fasten development processes.
