IFlytek, the Chinese speech recognition company, recently showcased their AI-powered product -iFlyrec AI Writer- at the BEYOND Expo 2023 in Macao. The tool is a form of Artificial Intelligence Writing which helps users quickly produce articles based on available materials and prompts. The AI Writer was first unveiled in an iFlytek press release event on the 6th of May. The Chairman of iFlytek, Liu Qingfeng, mentioned that the AI model had surpassed all previous Chinese long-text generation, medical knowledge and mathematical capabilities seen before, but still lags behind ChatGPT in natural language understanding.
IFlytek is the third major Chinese technology company to produce AI language models and approach the global market. The others being the tech titans Baidu and Alibaba, thus ensuring a surge in Chinese contributions to the development of AI worldwide.
Wang Wei, vice president of iFlytek and general manager of iFlyrec, was the one to demonstrate the AI Writing tool at BEYOND Expo. He is an experienced degree holder from the Beijing Academy of Science & Technology and is currently leading the iFlyrec team forward in the development of AI technology. Considered to be a leader in the Artificial Intelligence field, Wang Wei is experienced in the areas of speech recognition, natural language processing, computer vision and has received multiple awards for his accomplishments.
