Get the Latest AI Boost with the MacGPT 3.0 Update on Your Mac

Date:

The popular MacGPT app has finally been updated to version 3.0 with several new features to bring Artificial Intelligence-powered help to every Mac user. Developed by Jordi Bruin, MacGPT now supports the GPT-4 algorithm, bringing even more seemless AI integration to the platform.

One of the most anticipated features is Global which allows users to access ChatGPT from anywhere on the Mac desktop. By activating the Global text field that appears on the middle of the screen, users can initiate a conversation with MacGPT’s AI-run assistance. Similarly, Inline provides ChatGPT integration directly into a text field within the app.

For those that are yet to try the MacGPT app, it is a simple native app for macOS that helps users access ChatGPT from the menu bar. After logging in with OpenAI credentials, users can chat with the AI through the menu bar icon at any time. Additionally, MacGPT loads the ChatGPT chat interface in an attached web browser for even more convenience.

The latest version now works with images too; thanks to the integration of GPT-4 technology. By presenting an image of items, users can ask what can be made out of the ingredients and the AI will provide a list of recipes. This is significantly more intelligent than the earlier models.

However, if you want to access GPT-4 on MacGPT, one way is to subscribe to the ChatGPT Plus plan. Launched on February 10th, the monthly subscription is offered for $20. On the MacGPT app, it is possible to select the option to get answers based on the GPT-4 technology.

MacGPT is freely accessible to all. Anyone who wants to support the work of Jordi Bruin can make a voluntary payment for the app.

This is great news for both aspiring developers and data scientists alike. With the update, developers can have full access to the GPT-4 algorithm and gain valuable insights from it. For data scientists, it eliminates the need to access other open source platforms and allows for the convenient integration of AI supported tasks within the MacGPT app.

Jordi Bruin is the founder and CEO of MacGPT. He is an accomplished computer scientist and AI enthusiast with multiple AI related platforms to his name. Bruin had previously developed other AI-based projects such as virtual assistant Carl and OpenDataTUB, an open source platform for data science and AI.
