Google will reportedly be launching its most recent and advanced large language model (LLM) called PaLM 2, which touts to be general-use. The model has reportedly completed multiple tests from coding/maths to creative writing and analysis. It’s possible Google could showcase the capabilities of this advanced AI model during the event.
Speaking of Google, it is a multinational technology and conglomerate company that specializes in providing internet-related services and products. It is one of the world’s four and most important search engine brands and was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in the 1990s. The company has since grown to become a leader in the internet industry, offering services like Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube, among others.
The man behind the innovative PaLM 2 is Larry Swanson, who currently serves as the Technical Director of AI Infrastructure at Google. He has been working with Google since 2013 and is highly experienced in data-center and cloud computing systems. Swanson has multiple patents to his name, and his more recent endeavors have seen him focus on distributed systems and machine learning.
