Amazon is looking to add AI-enabled Chatbot technology on Alexa, as reported by Insider. According to the report, the voice assistant after incorporating generative AI such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard AI, will be able to interact more proactively and conversationally. In February 2021, Amazon launched a new male voice for its Alexa users in India.
For speech processing, Alexa uses its own internally developed language model called “Alexa Teacher Model”. Amazon also reported it is working on creating relationships with partnerships such as Disney and Lego. The “Alexa LLM Entertainment Use Cases” document further revealed how the AI system will make media recommendations, deliver news and carry out storytelling more conversationally.
In addition, Amazon has included more than 100 Prime Video Originals for its free subscription-based streaming platform, Freevee. This comes after Amazon announced a higher rate for Prime subscriptions.
