ChatGPT Set to Shake Up Indian Job Market within 6-12 Months

ChatGPT, a new artificial intelligence (AI) technology has quickly become the center of attention, with employers looking to integrate the technology in their workflow. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, a natural language processing (NLP) chatbot has been integrated by some companies who are testing out its potential, with the expectation of bringing disruptions in the Indian job market over the next six to 12 months.

AI chatbot ‘PolicyGPT’, built atop OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 API, has been launched by an employee health insurance company, Plum. It helps in faster resolution of policy-related queries, and the accuracy of the application is currently at a very high level of 96.3%.

IBM, in an interview on May 2, revealed that they would freeze hiring and replace 7,800 jobs with AI. This serves as a cautionary message to employers who are looking to integrate AI technologies into their organisation. While the technology is still nascent, experts suggest that companies should start with soft cases, get feedback and then launch mission-critical applications.

Data privacy and security remain a cause of concern when it comes to artificial intelligence. Companies should remain vigilant when it comes to the usage of the technology to ensure that no sensitive data is leaked to competitors.
