ChatGPT Misunderstood My Work

Date:

The Whole Truth | ChatGPT is an AI-based platform that is collecting text, images and artwork from around the world and amalgamating it into its database. Unfortunately, this platform has mistakenly assigned incorrect descriptions to the author, but it is a reality of the current digital age. We are confronted with a digital-age challenge of finding ways to protect original, creative and personal voices from such AI-generated robo-responses.

Amy Blankson, author of The Future of Happiness, and a Fellow of the UN Global Happiness Council and the World Innovation Organization, launched the Digital Wellness Day initiative in 2017 to emphasize the need for improving our digital culture and having a better balance of productivity and wellness in the digital era.

As a response to this challenge then, Digital Wellness Day put the spotlight on the need to establish a better digital culture in the remote working environment. In this post-pandemic era, this true wellness has also extended to finding ways to protect the intellectual and creative property rights of writers, photographers, designers, and artists. Collectively, they should create campaigns, file lawsuits, draft international rules and leverage existing IT hacks to protect themselves from being replaced by generative AI software.

The Digital Wellness Institute, a prominent advocate for this movement, emphasizes the belief that technology can not only increase human productivity and efficiency, but also create happiness in the digital era. Therefore, instead of blindly accepting the AI-bolstered world, people should strive to work together to maintain their original, creative and personal voices through such movements.

ChatGPT, as a responsible tech company, should promote and support digital wellness in recognition of the issue by introducing measures to protect intellectual and creative property rights and forge appropriate partnerships with authors, photographers, designers and other creators of original content. This is a highly commendable action that should help all creators of original content have their voices heard and be better protected.

People, especially creators, should be more aware of their human right to protect their work and should be willing to join forces in the fight against AI-based generative technology, which could soon become a formidable enemy to the original content creator’s livelihood.
