OpenAI CEO’s Opinion on Remote Working for Technology Companies

Date:

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI and the creator of their popular product ChatGPT, has recently shared his thoughts on remote working. With the pandemic coming to an end, a lot of organizations have started to make moves away from this style of working. According to Altman, to have a full-remote operation, the technology must be advanced, which is not the case yet. At a recent session hosted by Stripe, Altman stated that working remotely can be confusing, and that organizations should switch back to the traditional in-person working method.

OpenAI, founded by Altman, has been involved in shaping the future of AI in the industry, with help from companies like Microsoft. The AI chatbot, ChatGPT, can now support third-party plugins which utilize the internet to search for answers. Despite its successes, there are a number of advocates that have raised concerns with how AI could affect humanity. Recently, Google saw ‘Godfather of AI’ Geoffery Hinton depart from the company, along with a warning on the scope of AI.

OpenAI, founded in 2015 by Altman, is a research laboratory and technology incubator that works on advancing human computer intelligence. OpenAI focuses on artificial general intelligence and natural language processing while also investing heavily in safety and policy research. Their products extend to the use of applied machine learning and deep learning, with products including robot pushing and the ChatGPT AI chatbot which helps companies deploy a conversational AI quickly.
