ChatGPT Warns of Possible Doomsday, Urges Humanity to Take Immediate Action

Date:

Open AI’s ChatGPT is a chatbot that puts forth the forebodingwarning that humanity may be doomed to extinction due to a variety of sources. It urges people to consider the alarming ways in which artificial intelligence is evolving and recommends taking these warnings seriously. According to the chatbot, climate change could present one of the most challenging threats as it can bring catastrophic effects on the planet if not addressed. This can lead to extreme weather, displacement of millions of people, and loss of vital infrastructure. It even suggests that the rise of automation in the job market may give way to economic and social disruption which could in turn lead to widespread unrest and instability.

Next, the chatbot touched on potential nuclear threats and the inherent risks that come with such weapons. Should Russia use nuclear weapons, ChatGPT warned it could result in massive destruction and long-term environmental impacts. It further added AI and robotics to the list of potentially world-ending forces, and noted how the automation of jobs could also lead to societal and economic tumult.

But there’s one more scary threat that could potentially kill us all: pandemics. Diseases can now spread across the globe in unprecedented speed, and the chatbot listed influenza, Ebola, another Coronavirus pandemic, and bioterrorism as the top four pandemics that pose the largest threats.

Amidst all these worries, the company behind ChatGPT, Open AI, has been meeting the conditions of Italian regulators, who pulled the plug on the chatbot in March over privacy concerns. Those worries have been adequately addressed and the ban has been lifted. Meanwhile, AI expert Geoffrey Hinton, famous for his contributions in the field, has recently admitted that yes, AI could absolutely override humanity and take control and ultimately obliterate us.
