Integrating ChatGPT with an Analytic Database

Date:

Kinetica, an analytics database company has just introduced a new product that integrates with the ChatGPT technology, giving the Opportunity to all users, especially the so-called “citizen data scientists,” and business owners to ask a range of questions regarding their private data stores. Nima Negahban, the co-founder and CEO at Kinetica answered some pre-release queries regarding the new features.

Conversational querying is the process of using a real-time analytic database that utilizes a generative AI interface with able to translate natural language into application languages. This feature enables developers and users to ask any type of questions about the data, expecting an immediate response, without the restriction of limited pre-defined and structured queries.

An intuitive and dynamic exploration of the data and improving decision-making is the primary purpose of this service, because querying should no longer be constrained to skills previously used on this platform. As natural language will become the primary way to ask question, even those who are non-experts can easily find their answers.

In use cases such as in the inventory management and supply chain, users can quickly take advantage of real-time data to see the status of their inventory or reroute delivery vehicles to prevent low stock. For fraud detection, users are able to query from multiple sources such as transactions and logs, then use graph analytics to figure out any anomalies or suspicious activities promptly.

This technology eliminates the need for developers to learn and use complicated query language, thus removing the technical debt which is traditionally associated with data engineering and analytics. The bottom line is that companies no longer need to wait hours for the data gathering and answers, but just seconds.
