Kinetica, a leader in SQL analytics and database platform development, has announced what they call “conversational querying” of company data. By developing a ChatGPT-based front end to its databases, users can now convert their natural language questions into structured query language (SQL), allowing for a more seamless and intuitive way to analyze large, complex datasets.
The new feature is powered by Kinetica’s GPU-powered native vectorization. This key element of the system allows for data to be stored in fixed-size blocks, or ‘vectors,’ to ease in query operations. By allowing for concurrent users to access data concurrently, the speed of queries are increased exponentially.
Moreover, the tool allows for a variety of analytics -including time series, spatial, graph and machine learning to be completed right away. By allowing users to easily ask questions and receive answers within seconds, corporations can get instant access to their inventories or gain insights into how customers change throughout the year.
Nima Negahban, Kinetica’s CEO and Co-Founder, believes this advancement could revolutionize the way we look at data. According to Negahban, enterprises will soon expect “lightning-fast response times to random text-based questions of their data,” the same way they do public domains.
Kinetica is offering the conversational querying for free in its developer edition, allowing users to install it on their local machine or run it as a Docker container.
