Business entrepreneur Oudi Antebi returned to his native Israel after working in the United States and the high-tech space for 18 years to launch a new venture – the Israeli music production shingle, Session 42. This company uses the expanding global power of AI technology to create music. His mission was to unify technology and music together and create something truly innovative.
Antebi joined forces with music industry veteran Amit Shine as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), as well as top-notch Israeli music producers Tal Forer, Yinon Yahel and Stav Berger. It resulted in their grandest project yet – the AI song duet “Kan Le Olam” (“Here Forever”). Recorded using AI technology to resurrect deceased Israeli music icons Zohar Argov and Ofra Haza, the track released last month in honor of the country’s 75-year anniversary. It has since been receiving remarkable attention and praise.
For the project, Antebi and his team had to tread carefully and seek permission from Argov and Haza’s families. Taking into consideration the ethical concerns, they explained their plan and reassured the families they would only release the song if it gave justice to the artists. With the family’s approval, it took the AI machine four weeks to learn, mimic, and recreate the vocal styles of Argov and Haza to completion.
Composed by Forer, Roy Machluf, and Ron Biton, the track is a beautiful mix of nostalgia and cutting-edge technology. With the AI-produced snippets from two legendary Israeli vocalists, the song is a dedication to the nation’s independence and a meaningful tribute to the beloved artists.
Session 42 is among the first to create official music using AI technology. Not only that, but the company is spearheaded by Antebi, a respected business entrepreneur, and Shine, a veteran in the music industry, with a talented group of music producers supporting them. Thanks to their passion and expertise, they managed to craft a song that is sure to remain a beloved classic in the years to come.
