Japan has a high-density of robots, with 399 robots per 10,000 employees in manufacturing, the third-most in the world. The majority of Japanese citizens appear supportive of the benefits that smart machines can bring to the workplace: 70% said that robots could help manufacturers deal with worker shortages.
