Chinese tech giant Baidu is launching a $145m venture fund to support AI-focused start-ups, along with a developer competition for its language model ERNIE. This follows similar initiatives from Google and OpenAI, as companies race to acquire start-ups in generative AI. Baidu's billionaire founder, Robin Li, co-founded the company in 2000 and is also involved in autonomous vehicle technology.
