In this review, I will address WordTune: Granular Style Checkers. Artificial intelligence (AI) tools have become increasingly popular for helping with content writing, but I prefer to use more granular line-by-line style-checking tools because of their ability to show the difference between the original content and the changes made by the AI tools. Let’s take a look at WordTune.
WordTune stands out among the many other style-checking tools out there. It offers more granularity in its editing process, making it easier to catch and fix mistakes. It is very effective at trimming away excessive content such as weasel words, unnecessary constructions, and filler words such as “mostly”, “in some ways”, “a number of”, etc. It also offers a variety of suggestions for re-writing problematic sentences that would otherwise be hard to fix manually. Surprisingly, the AI features provided by WordTune, such as its content expansion tool, are generally not particularly useful as it often adds unnecessary verbosity and hot air.
WordTune has also been extremely helpful for me in terms of developing my writing style. It is so easy to click on a sentence and be presented with helpful tips on how to improve my content, instead of having to go through it on my own line by line. This makes it easier to spot mistakes and fix them without any tedious or time-consuming tasks. As a writer, I find this to be an invaluable asset.
In conclusion, WordTune is an excellent example of granular style-checkers that are more useful than AI tools. By providing a more detailed editing experience, it allows me to make changes myself and not rely entirely upon the output of AI tools. Highly recommend! It is also worth mentioning that WordTune is not promoting in any way. Lastly, I personally prefer the model of going line by line through my content, seeing any underlined content and rejecting or accepting each change.
