Westpac, a Sydney-based bank, is testing Kasisto’s Kai-GPT, a generative AI model trained only on conversations and data in the banking industry. Westpac’s chief technology officer, David Walker, is cautious about the use of large language models such as ChatGPT, which can hallucinate and generate inaccurate or false information. The bank plans to reduce the risk of hallucination by training Kai-GPT on their proprietary content to provide employees and customers with accurate answers to their questions. The bank is testing the use of Kai-GPT in the mortgage lending process to aid in information verification and streamline the loan application process.
Westpac is a Sydney-based bank with over 12 million customers.
