With more automation and technology entering the modern workplace, many have worried whether artificial intelligence (AI) will eventually take away our jobs. A new study by collaboration software firm RingCentral claims that workers are actually excited about the prospect of AI and are more optimistic than concerned about it.
The research resulted in 26% of workers believing that AI could make their jobs easier and 28% reporting that AI could free up their time to focus on more important matters or achieve a better work-life balance. 35% of respondents also stated that AI and similar technologies are likely to have a positive impact on the workforce. The sentiment is particularly shared by younger generations; 49% of participants between the ages of 21-34 strongly agreed to the idea.
Based on these figures, RingCentral deduced that Gen Z and Millennials will come to expect AI as a regular part of their work. Businesses are urged to keep up-to-date with the times and invest in AI technology in order to accommodate the younger generations and remain competitive in an ever-changing job market.
