Vivo, a major Brazilian telecommunications provider, announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to adopt the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. This alliance aims to implement the use of cutting-edge technologies in various fields, bringing direct benefits to Vivo’s customers and operational efficiency.

The partnership between Telefónica and Microsoft seeks to launch joint initiatives in Innovation and Digital Transformation. These initiatives will focus on services such as games, connectivity, communication, and artificial intelligence. One of the first use cases under development is to use the Azure OpenAI Service to assist the customer service agents, allowing them to understand customer calls, inquiries and preventing service errors.

Vivo also plans to use the technology in specific areas of the business, such as preparing selling proposals for corporate clients, allowing sales representatives to deliver more accurate services and strategies. Moreover, the integration of the AI Service, will no doubt offer new capabilities to the telco, allowing it to provide a better, more efficient experience and making it an even more competitive operator in the Latin American market.
