Using ChatGPT for Everyday Tasks: My One Week Experiment with My Boss

Date:

I recently had the opportunity to talk to Nick Rolle, an associate editor of insights and analytics at Insider, about his decision to use ChatGPT, a conversational AI chatbot for work. After a week of trying it out, Nick found it incredibly helpful in his day-to-day tasks, prompting him to recommend it to his coworkers.

ChatGPT is an AI that helps people with the tedious tasks otherwise done manually. Stuff like coding, working in spreadsheets, and fixing up dashboards are all simplified with this chatbot. This resulted in speedy efficiency and increased productivity, encouraging Nick to advocate the usage of ChatGPT by his coworkers.

He was initially worried that his use of the chatbot might somehow replace his job, but after reassurance from ChatGPT itself, Nick revealed its existence to his team during a weekly meeting. While some may be reticent to adopt a chatbot, it worked wonders for Nick as he grew confident in its use and accuracy.

In addition to its use in Looker and Google Sheets, Nick found the chatbot particularly helpful for sending Slack messages. After giving it a brief explanation of his work progress, Nick was sent back a well-written, professional message in Slack that was informed by the algorithm and his given data.

Another common use for Nick was to ask the AI to produce Trello cards. It saved him time from having to explain complex questions in words and was able to produce cards from scratch as well as optimize existing ones.

Though it took careful clarification and consideration, ChatGPT was successful in making Nick’s workflow more efficient and organized. He was particularly impressed by the AI’s accuracy and its ability to break down his requests into valuable explanations. Nick is now a major advocate of ChatGPT and has continued to use it to help with his work.

ChatGPT is an open-source platform for anyone to access for free, but its vulnerability to data breaches has caused users like Nick to become more cautious. But with a feature such as Prioritized Access for paying subscribers, users can rest assured that their access will remain smooth and free of charges.

For the groundbreaking features ChatGPT offers its users, this AI chatbot is often cited as the go-to solution for data analytics and productivity. And with Nick Rolle backing it up, there’s no question of its efficacy in the workplace.
