UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn recently attended the opening ceremony of a Foundation Course for Public Opinion Mining Analysis (Artificial Intelligence – AI) in Nay Pyi Taw. During his speech, the minister emphasized the significant role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in spearheading the smart technology revolution in the IT era, noting its widespread use in international countries.
AI has proven its effectiveness in various sectors such as health, education, and industry by reducing the reliance on manpower. The implementation of AI has replaced certain tasks previously performed by human workers. Additionally, AI has been utilized in the media industry to create virtual news that allows people to analyze and identify misinformation. The automated nature of AI also ensures significant savings in human resources.
Minister U Maung Maung Ohn highlighted the usefulness of AI in the digitalization process. AI functions as a search engine and plays a pivotal role in public areas such as navigations, traffic lights, jetties, airports, as well as in research on neighboring countries and European nations.
The minister urged the trainees to fully immerse themselves in the course and apply their knowledge effectively. He emphasized the importance of utilizing their newfound skills for the betterment of their respective departments, the country as a whole, and ultimately, the people.
The Myanmar Computer Vision Developer Team representative, U Wai Phyo Aung, provided an overview of the courses to be taught during the training session. The event also featured a video clip demonstrating the capabilities of AI technology.
This three-month online training course was attended by seven trainees from the Media Development Department. The focus of the training course is to equip participants with the necessary skills to effectively analyze public opinion mining using AI technology.
