UGR Launches Free Machine Learning Course for Bioinformatics on AbiertaUGR Platform

Registration for the IV Edition of the UGR Mooc on Machine Learning and Big Data for Bioinformatics

The University of Granada’s online educational platform, AbiertaUGR, invites Arqus students and academics to enroll in the fourth edition of its Massive Open Online Course Machine Learning and Big Data for Bioinformatics. Scheduled to run from April 15 to June 17, 2024, this MOOC aims to provide accessible and practical learning opportunities in the fields of Bioinformatics and Machine Learning.

Registration for the course, which is free of charge and available in Spanish and English, will commence on April 11 and will continue until the course concludes. The University of Granada has assembled a team of experts, professors, and professionals in Bioinformatics and Machine Learning to ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.

Spanning a duration of 8 weeks with an additional week for completing pending content, the course operates on an asynchronous basis, allowing students to partake in the learning process at their convenience. Upon successful completion, participants will receive 4 ECTS credits, accessible to all students enrolled in any UGR degree program.

The MOOC is composed of eight modules, covering various topics ranging from Bioinformatics and Data Science to Big Data and Graphic Tools. Educational materials in different formats, including notes and videos, have been created for each module to facilitate learning. Students will have access to all required programs via the AbiertaUGR platform, eliminating the need for any additional installations.

Enrollment for the course can be completed through the provided link starting from April 11. It’s important to note that the course will become available each Monday with a new module, allowing participants to engage with the content at their own pace. With a structured 8-week schedule and an additional week for catch-up, students are encouraged to make the most of this valuable learning opportunity.
