RoomGPT, an AI-based interior decorating site, is going viral on TikTok after a user recently posted how it helped transform her patio. Over 2.5 million people have viewed the video of the bare courtyard being designed by the AI program in just one day.
The use of AI to enhance interior design has caused both wonder and worry among viewers. Yet, developer Hassan El Mghari assures that there is no reason for interior designers to fret about AI stealing their job. According to El Mghari, this program makes it easier for designers to quickly generate mockups for clients in the form of three free AI renderings in seven design styles.
I wanted to put the program to the test myself and decided to use my boring living room as I gear up to redesign my entire apartment as a summer project. After clicking “Sign Up,” I was required to accept the Terms and Privacy Policy from both Insider and Morning Brew. RoomGPT was able to create an amazing design for my living room and it included a pool inside the apartment as an unexpected surprise.
It’s no wonder then that AI is increasingly being used in almost all industries. It enables users to quickly find creative solutions and produce better results in various fields of work. With Interior decorating being just one of the many areas AI is advancing in, there is no telling how far the technology can take us.
