The Battle of AI Chatbots: ChatGPT vs ChatSonic vs Google Bard vs Ernie Bot

Date:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has undoubtedly been making significant strides over the past few years, transforming nearly every sector, including healthcare, education, and agriculture. The development of AI-powered chatbots has been especially revolutionary, as they help users accomplish diverse tasks such as conversing with people, generating new content, and even creating custom cocktails!

The technology behind these chatbots is called Generative AI, a category of artificial intelligence that can create new content like text, images, and audio. This technology works by studying an existing database to learn patterns and create fresh and unique content. Large Language Models (LLMs) are a type of Generative AI model that uses specific algorithms to process natural language and convert it into logic fed to the AI.

While there are several AI chatbots functioning as LLMs, ChatGPT is currently the most popular. It is based on Generative Pre-trained Transformer architecture and learns from a substantial amount of text data to help the AI discern the subtleties of human language. ChatGPT can answer any question, as long as it pertains to a topic before 2021. What’s more, it adapts to the user and even remembers the previous prompts used in a long session.

Google Bard is another LLM-based chatbot powered by the Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA). Unlike ChatGPT, Google Bard can generate multiple responses even from similar prompts and classify them according to predetermined safety parameters. ChatSonic is another LLM-style AI chatbot that has the added advantage of providing up-to-date information through the Include Latest Google Data option. Its multi-modal capabilities make it flexible enough to accept prompts and generate responses using different input modes, like texts and images.

Ernie, developed by Baidu, is China‘s answer to ChatGPT. It uses Baidu‘s in-house Large Language Model (LLM) Ernie 3.0-Titan and Pre-trained Dialogue Generation Model (PLATO). Its standout feature is its multi-modal capabilities that allow users to interact using texts and images in both prompts and responses.

As AI chatbots continue to evolve, they will become even more intricate and diverse. Each AI chatbot has its own unique features and capabilities, catering to specific needs and requirements. Businesses will benefit significantly from using chatbots that precisely address their needs, ultimately adding value to users.
