Google has announced an exciting merger of its two Artificial Intelligence (AI) research units, Google Brain and DeepMind. Led by Demis Hassabis, co-founder of DeepMind and a UK government AI advisor, Google DeepMind aims to advance AI research & development, combining resources and talent while maintaining Google's powerful computational resources. Google CEO Sundar Pichai approves of the merger which has been welcomed by the UK government & Chancellor Jeremy Hunt.
