Cyber criminals in Singapore are targeting credit and debit cardholders, charging small transactions through legitimate companies to validate card information before making larger transactions. Cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks has reported a surge in ChatGPT-themed attacks, with many victims reporting the fraudulent activity on social media. Local banks, including POSB, DBS Bank, and UOB, have all reported illegal transactions. The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore advises consumers to set up alerts and monitor their accounts closely.
