Universities across the world strive to find a suitable balance between using ChatGPT, the AI program developed by OpenAI capable of natural conversations including creating, translating and summarizing text. Debate of using AI generated content in the college student's entry exams is discussed in view of potential cheating. Universities seek to utilize the potential in such software in a beneficial learning way under staff guidance and supervision.

Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys, stunned the world with his statement that nothing can surpass the human mind, even the AI ChatGPT. He believes that human creativity is the key to bridging divides between resources and knowledge generation. Murthy also revealed his interaction with ChatGPT that his son has introduced him with. Thus, AI can be used as an excellent base to be wielded with human intelligence to solve major problems.

Alphabet's AI divisions, Google Brain and DeepMind, are joining forces to create a single AI entity. Led by the DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, the team aims to innovate in the rapidly advancing AI landscape, focusing on "bold and responsible" advancements. With projects such as the OpenAI engines, and the new "multimodal" AI similar to OpenAI's GPT-4, Alphabet is determined to stay at the forefront of the AI market.

OpenAI has been recently confronted by the Italian authorities with an order concerning its AI chatbot, ChatGPT. This resulted from a data leak revealing users' chat histories and financial records, visible to the Garante, the Italian data protection authority. To protect users' data and rights, tech professionals, including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak, have signed an open letter urging AI labs to stop training AI systems beyond GPT-4 level for six months. OpenAI now has twenty days to comply to the Garante's recommendations or face fines of up to 20 million euros.

OpenAI's ChatGPT introduced an AI chatbot which uses machine learning to generate natural language, passing the bar exam, 13 out of 15 AP exams, and the GRE Verbal exam with great scores. Recently, researchers and 186 universities tested the original version, ChatGPT, in accounting exams and published the results in Issues in Accounting Education. ChatGPT scored 47.4% and even though it outperformed humans with true/false and multiple choice questions, there was difficulty with higher order questions. Even so, it's clear that AI technology can revolutionize education.
