Student Interest in ChatGPT Skills on Udemy Skyrocketing, 4,419% Increase since 2022: Report

Udemy’s Global Workplace Learning Index for the first quarter of 2023 revealed a significant boost in ChatGPT, financial services, and business teaching skills from its market of 49 million users. This surge of interest is aligning with the growing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) development and its various applications.

The index report specifically revealed an increase of 4,419% of topic consumption related to ChatGPT skills. Nutanix, Azure Machine Learning, Amazon Elastic MapReduce and other cloud related courses are also in line with the increase of machines learning, artificial intelligence art generation as well as illustration.

It is also noted that these skills remain steadily high across various countries, with the most significant growth being in the U.S. – where ChatGPT topped the list. In other countries such as in Argentina and Canada, AI was found to be the leading skill in demand.

Apart from tech industry, the report found that the ‘professional power skills’ sector have seen the biggest growth. Teaching was the highest with a 764% increase in topic attention compared to other sectors.

To keep up with the digital transformation era, ChatGPT and other related technologies are the best way to ensure one is efficient in pivoting to the needs of the digital world. In the cryptocurrency world, ChatGPT has enabled trading bots that offer third party plugins within the platform. Python certifications have seen an increase of 272% on the report and FastAPI skills have increased by 102%, as blockchain technology develops.

Diego Davilla, an instructor on Udemy, shared his thought on the report, saying “Having a comprehensive understanding of ChatGPT and other emerging AI technologies will be imperative to quickly pivot in today’s era of rapid digital transformation.”
